The Distillery preserves the soil’s health through crop rotation and fallowing, thus ensuring a unique terroir. Sustainable development is one of the keys to excellence of Rhum J.M. The distillery is deeply attached to the land. Its cultivation practices enhance the value of agricultural life underground.
Circular economy is the key word within the distillery. It offers exceptional and responsible rhums. The distillery is committed with passion and sincerity to transmit its heritage and to actively contribute to the sustainability of this unique paradise.
To support its ambitions and innovations, the Fonds-Préville Distillery has initiated the EDDEN project, a strong commitment to the sustainable development of ecosystems and nature.

CULTIVATE AND PROTECT OUR NOURISHING SOIL
Numerous agricultural experiments and innovations are undertaken to achieve a more reasoned agriculture (HVE2). This involves training teams, planting crops and conservation farming.
To collect, to transform, to produce & to give back
PRODUCE IN A CIRCULAR ECONOMY TO MINIMIZE our IMPACTS
At the end of the cycle, all the secondary products are fully reused. The vinasse is filtered in aeration tanks. The bagasse becomes a combustible for the boiler or for a cogeneration plant. In the boiler, the ashes and dusts are trapped to give back potash to the soil in a natural way.
971 hours of continuous training each year for the staff
DRIVERS TO EXCELLENCE, PEOPLE ARE AT THE HEART OF THE PROCESS
Since 2015, a process of transgenerational transmission
of know-how has been established. Ongoing training is offered to each staff member. Parity within the distillery is the rule.
of circular production
To make one of the best aged rhum in the world, we leave nothing to chance. Neither the care given to the taste, nor the care given to the soil, nor the attention given to the valorization of each material used or produced in our distillery.
“Our production is based on a fully circular economy model. Cane, bagasse, vinasse or potasse… we collect, transform, produce and give back! Because we strive to make quality rhyme with longevity”.
